The Project Planning & Control™ qualification scheme supports the publication of the Association for Project Management (APM) guide, Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring and Control – The Practical Project Management of Time, Cost and Risk. What project management qualification is best for me?

The Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) gives you a good basis of project management knowledge – it’s ideal for anyone who wants to learn more about what is and how to ‘do’ project management. 

If you’re a practising project manager, have taken some project management qualifications, starting out your career or just want to hone your understanding of project management then the Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is right for you.

How do I prepare for an online exam?

You will need:


  • a computer/laptop (with webcam and microphone),
  • smartphone or tablet with camera,
  • ID verification documents (either a passport or driving licence) 
  • strong internet connection. Prior to taking the examination, you will need to check that your internet and PING speed meet the recommended minimum requirements.

We worked with employers to develop an apprenticeship and degree apprenticeship that develop talented project managers. Academic Accreditation identifies courses and modules which are aligned to the APM Body of Knowledge 6th edition. APM Learning is available to fee paying individual members and Honorary Fellows.
